Susie Petrov graduated from the Peabody Conservatory with a degree in Allpied Piano and quickly abandoned classical music for a performing, researching and teaching career centered on Scottish music and dance. She has gone on to perform for and teach Scottish dancing in the USA, Canada and Europe.
She will continue to play with her ensembles Local Hero and Parcel of Rogues when live performances can happen again providing music for weddings, parties, festivals and concerts. She has 2 books and some 14 albums to her credit. She has taught Scottish music to people in Scotland ages 9 to adult through the organization Feis na Gael. She also spent the winter term as a guest lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow.
She currently teaches music to children in the Lynn, MA public schools and pedagogy to music teachers with the Kodály Music Institute.
